The British Council for Offices (BCO) has announced Broad Gate on The Headrow in Leeds is this year's Best Refurbished/Recycled Workplace.
The property was praised for its "exceptionally bold" aesthetic that embraces the property's 1930s heritage, following the construction of new modern office design space wrapped around a central atrium at the building.
Richard Kauntze, chief executive of the BCO, said: "This is the second year for the BCO regional awards and we're excited to see the bar raised by this year's entrants.
"The competition was fierce, with northern England proving once again that they are at the forefront of top-quality design."
The BCO was established in 1990 and runs regional chapters in Scotland, the north of England, the midlands, the south-west and Wales.
It presently has more than 1,500 members, all working with the aim of improving Britain's offices and highlighting the need for improved sustainability and functionality in the years ahead.
