Less is more for make-up at work

When it comes to wearing make-up at work, less is more for female staff, a survey of bosses suggests.
Slapping on bright shades of lipstick appears the worst faux pas, according to the poll of 500 male and female bosses by officerbroker.com.
A third (32%) said strong shades of lipstick are too much for the workplace, while 28% said going overboard with eye make-up is the most off-putting, and 15% said too much blusher is their main bugbear.
However, 12% of those polled said they appreciated women who wear make-up for work, and nearly all of those surveyed said a small amount of make-up is appropriate for the office.
A spokesman for officerbroker.com said: "Most of us try to look our best at work but sometimes people may go over the top to impress.
"The bosses we spoke to had no problem with people making an effort to look good in the office but sometimes had an issue with the quantity of make-up used."
