A £4 million project is getting underway to create additional office space and areas where businesses can interact at Liverpool Innovation Park.
In total, the project will deliver 16,000 sq ft of new grade A office interior space, as well as a networking hub where firms can meet guests, entertain clients and generally network with other tenants of the site.
Funding for the project has been provided by Space North West - a joint venture between Ashtenne Industrial Fund and the Northwest Development Agency (NWDA) - and the European Regional Development Fund, with completion of the work scheduled for early 2011.
Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the NWDA, told the Liverpool Daily Post: "Situated on Edge Lane, the gateway entrance route into the city, Liverpool Innovation Park has already contributed to the ongoing regeneration of the area."
The park was opened in 2008 and has the remit of attracting knowledge-intensive and technology-based businesses to the Merseyside region.
It presently contains more than 500,000 sq ft of office space and is home to more than 65 companies.
