Office refurbishment work at Liverpool's Royal Liver Building is almost complete, it has been revealed.
Javaria Akbar of the Need Office Space blog reported that the £20 million project has been carried out in time for the building's centenary celebrations in 2011 and to help attract new tenants to the iconic waterfront property.
Carried out in partnership with conservation officers from Liverpool City Council, the work was last undertaken in the 1970s and the facility was in need of renovation.
Head of property for the building's owner Peter Fane said: "We decided to do the refurbishment to protect the building's future, because otherwise we ran the risk of losing tenants to new office space around the Old Hall Street area."
Elsewhere in the city, The Plaza has undergone an office refurbishment project in order to attract more tenants.
In total, 23,000 sq ft of office interior space at the development has been refurbished, including the installation of new air conditioning, raised access floors and a new lobby.
