Liverpool Science Park has opened its second Innovation Centre in order to provide high-quality office interior space for science firms in the area.
The North-West Regional Development Authority (NWDA) put forward £6.75 million for the new building, with the remaining £3.17 million donated by Objective One.
In total, the new four-storey building will offer 38,750 sq ft of modern office design space and will provide a headquarters for the region's knowledge-based businesses.
Mark Hughes, NWDA executive director of economic development, said: "In order to build on its reputation as a growing business location, it is vital that Liverpool maintains a strong portfolio of high-quality office space, particularly in the current economic climate."
Elsewhere in the city, funding for the Mann Island office scheme has been secured by developer CommerzReal.
Once completed, the newly refurbished site will become the base for the office relocation of the Merseyside Integrated Transport Authority.
