London office design best for investment, report shows

A PricewaterhouseCooper's (PwC) survey has positioned London as the best market for commercial property investment in Europe.

Large-scale price declines - the greatest in 20 years - and the present weakness of sterling has made London one of the most attractive options for new, modern office design space across the continent.

However, at a presentation in London, PwC's head of real estate John Forbes commented: "The worst may be over and the bottom has been reached for London, [but] there's a concern that for prime assets with good tenants there's a bubble developing."

Elsewhere, Naomi Heaton, chief executive of London Central Portfolio, recently said a glut of prime office space remains available in London.

She claimed the fact many new developments have been put on hold in recent months as a result of the economic downturn means there are still plenty of opportunities for investment in the capital.
