London office relocation for cancer charity
15-05-2008
Cancer Research UK is set to relocate all its staff working throughout London into a single office, it has been revealed.Moving into The Angel Building on the corner of Pentonville Road and St John Street, the charity is to take up 130,000 sq ft of office layout in Angel Islington.
In a statement, Cancer Research UK said that the office relocation would help to "increase cost-effectiveness and improve efficiency".
The building was previously occupied by BT and is currently undergoing an office refit.
At the moment the charity occupies eight buildings across the capital, two of which - the Princes House on Kingsway and its main headquarters at 61 Lincoln's Inn Fields - it owns the freehold for.
While it will retain ownership of the land, the institution is to sell the lease of the buildings which currently house the charity's existing office layouts.
Last week housing minister Caroline Flint revealed that office design is to be incorporated into a major construction project across London's East End.
