London tower gets wind turbine

Islington council has installed a wind turbine on a tower block in Finsbury, it has been announced.The 12-metre turbine will provide power for the blocks lifts, lights, water pumps, CCTV and concierge area, according to New Builder.
Situated on City Road, Kestrel House was chosen by the council to receive the upgrade as part of a drive to reduce the carbon footprint of the area and improve sustainability.
It was installed by the construction firm Apollo and will produce 13,000-kilowatt hours of electricity each year - one tenth of the building's annual requirements.
Chris Doyle, director of Apollo, told the site: "Renewables can work in just about any location, as this project shows. The Apollo approach is to weave sustainability into its projects where possible."
Elsewhere in the city, This is Croydon Today reports that a £3 million office refurbishment is to take place at the offices of Princeton Investments.
