St George's House in Manchester has been sold by Scottish Widows to GGM Properties for a consideration of £5 million.
Situated on Peter Street in the city centre, the building encloses 50,000 sq ft of modern office design space. The deal was brokered by WHR Property Consultants, which represented the two parties throughout.
"St George's House is a prominent landmark building situated in an ever improving area that is set to benefit from substantial investment in the future," commented Dan Crossley, of WHR.
He added that the new owners are planning a significant capital investment in the premises.
Elsewhere in the city, UK insurer LV= recently announced that it plans to carry out the office relocation of its headquarters to the ninth floor of Ship Canal House.
The firm has signed a long-term lease on the property, which offers 4,000 sq ft of office interior space in which to house the company' staff.
