ITV chiefs are yet to provide a final decision in regard to proposed office relocation plans to MediaCityUK in the north-west.

The BBC has already taken on a significant amount of office space at the site. However, it is unclear whether ITV will follow suit by moving from its present studios at Quay Street in Manchester.

Director of BBC North Peter Salmon said: "I think it would be really desirable for ITV to be there and to be honest I think it would be a lost opportunity for them if they didn't."

Meanwhile, chief executive of production and publishing company Ten Alps Alex Connock added that it would be a "big moment" if ITV decided to follow the BBC to the site.

In total, the development offers 700,000 sq ft of office space spread over five buildings, with up to 250,000 sq ft of additional studio space also available at the site.

MediaCityUK is owned by the Peel Group and is situated at Salford Quays.
