Memphis office design makeover

Two local designers from Memphis have helped a financial planning firm reinvigorate its offices with dashes of colour and some tinkering with furniture layout.

The company's office was damp, cold and in need of some attention. Steel studded floors left workers feeling uninspired and the office wasn't attractive for meetings or impressing perspective clients.

New upholstery, very bright art on the walls, and candles lighting up meeting rooms has added a creative touch which, even if a desired taste, has brightened the office up.

Margaret Chancey, a designer for the project, told Commercial Appeal Online: "This is about connecting with people, understanding who they are and trying to make their space as beautiful as possible.

"And why not make the office as beautiful as the home? Most people spend eight hours a day there."

Office design can have a big impact on an entire business; from the motivation of the staff to the appearance of its reputation to visitors and potential customers.

Good office design can help turn a rather meek building into a desirable place to be which can increase productivity and make staff happier.
