Insurance firm Merlin Claims has announced an office relocation project from its present Deansgate office interior space.
Crain's Manchester Business reported the company has signed a deal for 8,820 sq ft at Magnum House on Portland Street, with the contract brokered by CB Richard Ellis (CBRE) on behalf of the building's owner MCR Property Group.
"The deal represents one of the largest lettings of refurbished office accommodation within the city in 2009," commented Will Kennon, senior surveyor for office agency at CBRE North West.
He added Merlin will pay an annual rent of £18 per sq ft for its new modern office design space.
Elsewhere in Manchester, US manufacturing giant SPX Corporation recently announced plans to open a new European distribution and office interior centre in the city.
SPX hopes to employ up to 160 new members of staff at its UK premises, with a final site for the office interior space yet to be finalised.
