Moaning work colleagues are the top pet peeve in the office environment amongst workers in the UK, a new survey has revealed.
The survey by LinkedIn, a social networking website for professionals, found that Britons are most annoyed by co-workers who constantly complain while those in the US are irritated by colleagues who take food from the office refrigerator that does not belong to them.
Brazilian workers dislike too much gossiping in the workplace while dirty common areas such as the community microwave or refrigerator is the top pet peeve for members of staff in Germany. Office staff in Japan get most irritated with pranks in the work environment.
Indian workers may favour office designs aimed at cancelling out noise in the workplace as the the survey found that they react negatively to annoying mobile phone ringtones.
The survey showed that there are differences of opinion amongst the genders as well, with 51% of women in the UK saying they dislike "clothing that’s too revealing for the workplace," although this only bothered 21% of the UK men that were polled.
