The Ministry of Defence (MoD) has announced plans for the construction of its new headquarters in Northwood, Middlesex.
Local planners have given the green light for the modern office design project, with the £160 million private finance initiative due to be completed in August 2011.
The scheme has already received certification that it will be acceptable for occupation from consultant WYG Management Services.
Clive Anderson, managing director of WYG, said: "We have a track record of providing creative solutions to some of the world's most challenging projects. We are delighted to be involved in such a prestigious project that continues our strategic relationship with the MoD."
Elsewhere, Network Rail recently announced it has been given the green light for the creation of a new headquarters in Milton Keynes.
The property has been earmarked for construction on the site of a former hockey stadium in the town and will provide 400,000 sq ft modern office design space when completed.
