M&S 'looking for new office in Manchester'
25-04-2008
Marks & Spencer (M&S) is looking to establish a new office centre in the north-west of England, new reports suggest.According to industry insiders, the retail firm has identified four prospective sites in Manchester and one in Salford to be the location for the office layout for its back operations.
It is thought that Three Piccadilly Place, Spinningfields, Belvedere and 40 Spring Gardens are among the shortlisted locations.
Meanwhile, Metro at Salford Quays' Exchange Quay has been identified as another potential area for the office fit out.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the retail giant said: "We are constantly looking to ensure that our sites best suit our needs."
One source claimed that M&S is looking for the extra room that an office layout provides to help accommodate London-based staff.
Earlier this year, it was revealed sportswear firm Puma had expanded its Manchester-based office layout on Chepstow Street by 5,000 sq ft.
