Needless prints 'waste thousands'

Businesses are squandering a fortune each year on unnecessary printing, new figures have revealed.
A study by an online printer cartridge retailer has shown how much money can be clawed back if employees ease back on printing out documents.
In a study of 1,917 people in businesses which have more than 100 employees, the average respondent said they printed four documents per day unnecessarily, with two sheets involved each time.
The firm, www.Cartridgesave.co.uk, found that, as a result, if businesses hire a minimum of 100 staff members printing eight sheets of paper a day, they could be wasting 800 sheets of paper every working day.
As a result - and even taking into account bank holidays and weekends - firms could be blowing as much as £3,500 every year on unnecessary print-outs.
This equates to 253 ink cartridges every calendar year, the firm found. So when it comes to planning an office, it can pay to consider everything, from even these seemingly small details to the bigger ones.
