A new office construction project in Leeds city centre has been described as "innovative" and could help to breathe new life into the city centre, it has been claimed.
The new project will add two storeys to a vacant building on Queen Street and has been described as both bold and innovative when it was presented to council planners.
A report on the final design of the building stated: "The applicant's brief was to breathe new life into what is considered a strong but tired aesthetic."
"It has a sense of dynamism and is something Leeds needs to be doing," councillor Geoff Driver added.
Elsewhere in the city, construction recruitment firm Caval recently announced it has moved to new office interior space at Coverdale House on Park Cross Street. The firm has taken on 1,330 sq ft and it means that the property is now fully let.
Caval specialises in the supply of temporary and permanent personnel to the construction, mechanical and electrical industries.
