A new office construction project in London could be about to get underway after plans have been approved for a new property nicknamed the Quill.
Standing at 31 storeys, the building will offer modern office design space, apartments and retail outlets and is to be situated in Southwark at the site of Capital House, which is to make way for the new development in the coming months.
Trevor Morriss, head of the development firm behind the project, said: "Sustainable development, good urban design and strong architectural detailing are the key principles that have informed the design."
Indeed, the property has achieved a provisional BREEAM award of Excellent due to its focus on sustainable office construction and design.
Meanwhile, 1 Merchant Square - nicknamed the Cucumber - is presently seeking planning consent for construction in London.
The 41-storey building will become the 17th tallest structure in the London area at 460-feet and office construction work at the site could be completed by as soon as 2016.
