A former airfield in North Somerset has seen planning approval granted for the construction of a new office and business park on the site.
The Old Weston Airfield is being rebranded the Weston Gateway business park following a decision by North Somerset Council to allow the development of a number of properties to provide office interior space for local firms.
Overall, the first phase of the project will see the delivery of 12,000 sq ft of office space and will likely be completed by spring 2012.
When finished, the development plans to offer on-site business development services and is expected to achieve a BREEAM rating of Very Good.
Elsewhere, a new 900,000 sq ft office development in London was recently sent for public consultation to determine whether there was local support for the project.
Ruskin Square in Croydon is being developed by Stanhope and Schroders as part of the local council's East Croydon Masterplan to help redevelop the area.
