Doncaster council has announced that it is to consolidate its offices into a single hub in the town centre.
Designed by Cartwright Pickard Architects, the premises will provide 157,500 sq ft of office design space once completed and will be home to approximately 1,400 council members of staff.
The building is also set to include a full council chamber, as well as a new customer service centre on the ground floor.
Peter Cartwright, director of Cartwright Pickard Architects, said: "Combined with its technical innovation, we believe the new offices and council chamber will have an incredibly positive impact on the wider Doncaster community."
Elsewhere, Salford-based IT support firm IT-Start has opened a new office in Sheffield. The company hopes to expand its influence in the north-east and felt that Sheffield was the perfect location from which to do so.
At present, IT-Start employs 15 members of staff, but it hopes to significantly increase this number over the months ahead.
