New office layouts 'critical to Derby'
11-04-2008
A construction and regeneration project that will see a range of new office layouts brought to Derby has been described as crucial to the city's future. The scheme is currently in the planning stages and is set to result in the development of a number of restaurants and residential apartments, as well as a series of office design projects.
Officially named the Number One Cathedral Green scheme, the initiative will be the first for some time constructed alongside the River Derwent.
Those involved believe it will have a significant beneficial impact on the prosperity of Derby.
John Cadwallader, from urban regeneration company Cityscape, told the Derby Evening Telegraph: "High-quality design providing new commercial office space is critical to delivering a vibrant and active city centre, creating new jobs and business opportunities."
Derby's latest office development scheme was unnamed until recently when Cityscape launched a public competition to find an appropriate title and decided upon Number One Cathedral Green.
