Land Securities has received planning consent to begin work on its new Oxford Street mixed-use development in London.
Once completed, Park House will offer 165,000 sq ft of grade A office interior space, 100,000 sq ft of commercial retail space and 39 residential apartments.
It is to be one of the largest developments to take place on the historic street in the last 50 years and will be the largest erection to take place in the Mayfair area for the last ten years.
The development had been subject to two judicial review challenges in relation to Westminster council's planning decisions, however, these were recently quashed at a hearing of the high court allowing work at the site to now get underway.
Elsewhere in the capital, construction on the Shard is due to begin in the near future, with the 17-storey striking development set to offer more than two million sq ft of office space in London's Bridge Quarter once it is completed.
The first tenants are scheduled to move into the property in spring 2012.
