New sleep pods for office workers

A firm has developed a new sleep pod for use in UK offices when workers are flagging and need a power nap.
Podtime has released its office-napping product on the back of successful trials among City workers in London earlier this year which were conducted amid talk of the benefits a daytime sleep could offer staff.
Bosses looking for inspiration for their office refurbishment plans could be helped out by taking a quick nap in the pod. When emerging from their slumber they may see their office design plans in a whole new light.
The firm suggested that the release comes at a time when bosses are becoming more open to how a small daily nap can help boost productivity and quality of work.
Workers climbing into one of the new pods will be able to call on the fitted radio and magazine rack to help them drift off.
Firms wanting to add TVs and DVDs to their office pods can arrange to do so.
Founder Jon Gray said: "By initially offering the pod rental services we wanted to see if this well-known Japanese concept worked in a Western environment - and indeed it did."
