New sustainability guidance offered
07-03-2008
A new guide aimed at helping third sector organisations improve their sustainability credentials has been launched by Every Action Counts.Entitled Changing the Way We Work, the guidelines suggest a number of ways that organisations can look to implement sustainable office design practices, with advice including the installation of energy efficient lighting to reduce carbon output.
Looking to open windows in favour of using air-conditioning systems is also suggested as an effective way to save on bills and improve sustainability.
Every Action Counts is an initiative that is being implemented by a consortium of organisations and is accountable to the Community Development Foundation.
The body aims to provide support and advice for voluntary and community groups looking to improve their environmental credentials by reducing carbon emissions and adopting sustainable office practices.
It advises organisations to make a detailed examination of ways in which they can help tackle climate change by adopting environmentally friendly business practices.
