Newport 'has significant commercial property potential'

Commercial property in Newport could be a catalyst for attracting new businesses to Wales, it has been claimed.
A study by Lambert Smith Hampton has shown the benefits of firms taking office interior space in the city due to its excellent transport links to the rest of the UK and its proximity to other major business centres - being 12 miles from Cardiff and 30 miles from Bristol.
The report highlighted the congestion and expense of working in traditional locations and claimed places like Newport can offer a fresh alternative, despite the city being one-sixth the size of Cardiff.
Meanwhile, a new business centre is being opened in Bristol at 10 Victoria Street by serviced office provider Orega.
The firm has signed a ten-year lease for 27,000 sq ft of office interior space at the building and hopes to have the new operation accepting its first tenants by November.
