A new sustainable development centre is to be set up in Northamptonshire.
Property Talk Live has reported that the iHub building will offer advice on the best ways to implement sustainable design practices for residential, commercial and office developments across the UK.
Construction on the £8 million centre is to get under way in June this year and it is hoped to be completed and ready for occupation by November 2010.
Tim Bagshaw, head of investment for Northamptonshire Enterprise, told the website: "The iHub building will put Northamptonshire firmly on the map as driving forward sustainable construction technologies and offering both UK and overseas businesses the opportunity to learn, grow and develop in an emerging industry."
In related news, Earth911.com recently reported that businesses could benefit both environmentally and economically from the uptake of sustainable office design features.
The website noted that firms should carefully think about any refurbishment plans and take into consideration whether employing design for design's sake sends the proper message to clients.
