Northern office relocation 'would be welcomed'

Companies could soon be flocking to take on office interior space in the north of England as prices in the region are cheaper than elsewhere in the country.
Richard Horner, northern south sector regional executive for the National Association of Estate Agents, said the cost to both rent and to buy is cheaper in the north. Therefore, it makes good financial sense for businesses to relocate to an area where their overheads will be reduced.
He commented: "In the south and in London you have ... got a lot of international money so there is a microclimate in the London area that keeps the prices up and keeps them relatively stable."
According to research carried out by Zoopla.co.uk, the cheapest places to live and work in the country are in the north-west or north-east.
These are split between cities such as Liverpool, Hull and Sunderland, or the Midlands (Skegness and Willenhall, Wolverhampton).
