Three former office buildings owned and run by Nottingham City Council have been sold and are to be redeveloped in the coming months, it has been revealed.
Severns House and the former Treasury building have already been sold by the council and are now in the process of applying for redevelopment to create new grade A city centre office space, while Lawrence House is set to be sold in the coming weeks.
Geoffrey Hibbert, director of property and workplace strategy at the council, said: "The up and coming sale of Lawrence House is the third of six city centre properties to be put up for sale, and we expect it to sell as quickly as Severns House and the former Treasury Building."
Elsewhere, one-fifth of the office interior space presently owned and operated by Bradford Council could be up for sale in the coming months as the local authority looks to streamline its practices and improve efficiency.
The council claims it could save up to £400,000 per annum in lower running costs through the move, while at the same time protecting services for local residents.
