Notts PCT hopes for Breeam-certificated HQ
14-04-2008
Nottinghamshire County Primary Care Trust (PCT) is hoping to establish a headquarters for its teaching activities that is rated as "excellent" under the terms of the British Research Establishment Environmental Assessment Method (Breeam).Sustainability has been a watchword for planners involved in designing a new building for the trust and a host of environmentally-friendly features are set to be incorporated.
The Breeam certification would confirm the green office design credentials of the £4 million building.
It is nearing completion and has been constructed primarily out of biodegradable materials, the Nottingham Evening Post reports.
Jennifer Cawkwell, the Nottinghamshire County Teaching PCT's project manager for the new site, said: "The move ties in with our green transport plan, where we encourage car sharing and encourage people to cycle to work."
Last month, a scheme that cost £35 million and saw a number of office fitouts take place in Nottingham city centre was named Commercial Property of the Year at the Evening Post Awards.
