The Agriculture and Horticulture Development Board (AHDB) has put forward plans for a new office project at Stoneleigh Park in Warwickshire, West Midlands.
It has been designed to deliver a BREEAM standard of Excellent, with the 37,000 sq ft office to include a number of green technologies, including the use of natural, sustainable and locally sourced materials during construction, as well as rainwater harvesting and solar panels.
AHDB chairman John Bridge told the Business Desk: "This is excellent news. We need open plan offices to help us fully deliver the sharing of best practice and other operational efficiencies expected from the restructuring of the levy boards."
Elsewhere, Construction & Maintenance recently reported the first development in England to have been awarded an Outstanding BREEAM rating has been completed in London.
The ten-storey office at 7 More London Riverside was designed by London-based architectural firm Foster Partners and it was the first project in England to achieve such a high rating for sustainability.
