The Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA) and the European Regional Development Fund have invested £4.7 million in the expansion of Atlantic Park in Sefton.
Overall, the 22-hectare site has the potential for the creation of 75,000 sq ft of new office and industrial accommodation and could create up to 1,500 new jobs in the area.
Steven Broomhead, chief executive of the NWDA, said: "The provision of high-quality employment sites and office premises is crucial if the region is to continue its strong track record in attracting investment, a key economic driver for the north-west."
He added that the development of this site is one of the key priorities of the NWDA, as it could play a key role in supporting the local economy.
Elsewhere, Place North West reports Ocean House at Towers Business Park in Didsbury, south Manchester, is to undergo a £1.5 million office refurbishment programme, with 36,585 sq ft of office interior space undergoing refitting at the site.
