A 200-acre site in Weston-super-Mare has seen office construction work and new residential development get underway in recent weeks.

The £400 million regeneration of the former RAF Locking facility is set to deliver more than 1,500 new homes for the area and will also create an additional 450,000 sq ft of new office space, as well as a 30,000 sq ft Innovation Centre.

Rupert Joseland, south-west regional director for the firm responsible for the development, said that the project hopes to deliver up to 2,000 new jobs and aims to make the area an attractive and prosperous prospect for new businesses in the next 20 years.

Meanwhile, a new £250 million scheme has been announced by CLS Holdings for its headquarters at Vauxhall Cross in south London.

Richard Tice, chief executive officer of CLS, said: "These significant regeneration plans can provide Vauxhall with a new public square the size of Paternoster Square and establish the area as the next major London growth zone, just over a mile from the Houses of Parliament."
