12-05-2008
Proposals to carry out an office refit for Salisbury district council have been submitted for planning permission, it has been revealed. At a cost of £18.9 million, the plans will see the local authority's Bourne Hill office space be extended to incorporate a new register office, public office space and areas for community use.
In addition, the proposed office layout is to incorporate sustainability and will include rainwater harvesting and natural ventilation, This Is Wiltshire reports.
Furthermore, a green and brown roof is planned to be built in an effort to encourage ecological diversity.
Plans for the new office layout come following a number of consultation workshops held at the start of this year.
If given the green light, construction on the new office layout is expected to start this summer and is due to be completed by the beginning of 2010.
Last month, Arthur Childs, managing director of Arch Financial Planning, reported that he is set to relocate his firm to larger premises on Cranfield high street.
