Office interior construction 'could pick up'

The construction sector in the UK could be soon set to pick up, it has been claimed.
Nick Whitten, associate editor at Construction News, said modern office design projects across the country could be getting back on track in the months ahead as there is now a more positive attitude to recovery within the construction industry in general.
He commented: "The national statistics suggest that there has been, if not some improvement, then some levelling off in the construction sector generally."
Mr Whitten added the "slightly upbeat mood" could also help to create new many jobs within the industry in the months ahead.
According to the latest Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply/Markit Construction Purchasing Managers' Index, UK construction activity declined in December 2009 for the 22nd consecutive month.
However, the report noted that construction companies have forecast a recovery will take place at some point in the coming months.
