02-05-2008
Two multimillion pound mixed-used developments are set to be built in Derby after planning permission was granted by the city council. The schemes, which are likely to include cutting edge modern office design, are part of a wider £2 billion regional regeneration, Property Week reports.
Work on the £30 million Number One Cathedral Green and Bold Lane, which will cost around £16 million, is set to begin shortly.
The developments will bring round 140,000 square feet of offices, 150 flats and a number of retail units to the centre of Derby.
Meanwhile, across the Midlands, proposals for a £160 million development in Birmingham could bring 285,000 square feet of office space to the city.
The new office designs are part of a 441 foot new building, set to replace the NatWest Tower, which will also include extensive retail space and a restaurant on the uppermost floor.
