Businesses hoping to improve productivity in the workplace may be encouraged to hear that one energy expert believes sustainable renovations can be help.
Writing for FavStocks, Stuart DeCaw - US-based EDF Climate Corps fellow - suggested an office redesign may enable staff members to perform their duties to a higher standard.
He described working at a Royal Bank of Scotland and Citizens Financial Group commercial block in Stamford, Connecticut, noting the building's environmentally-friendly features and structural elements as beneficial.
According to Mr DeCaw, the edifice has a cafeteria that composts its food waste, indoor planted trees and workspaces that receive an abundance of sunlight.
"Everyday this summer, I will come to work with a smile on my face (enjoying the extra productivity from working in natural light)," he explained.
John Tebbit, industry affairs director at the Construction Products Association, recently said the administration fees surrounding sustainable office design could be putting off building firms looking to go green.
