Opting to move to newly refurbished offices closer to Swindon town centre has helped to boost interest for the Army Careers Information Office, a report states.
The Swindon Advertiser reports that the careers service moved to new premises following an office refurbishment and that the move has helped provide both more space and greater interest.
Lieutenant colonel Brenda Shaw told the newspaper: "The new centre is so much more accessible for people to come in off the street; it's much easier to step through the door."
As a result of the move to newly refurbished offices, the army has seen around three times as many people walk in off the street to enquire about a new career in the forces, he added.
The new centre is larger than the old office and features interview rooms and spaces for psychometric testing.
Earlier this week it was revealed that a new office refurbishment project in Swindon could soon go ahead. Such a move would increase the availability of Grade A office space in the area.
