Cheshire West and Chester Council have announced plans to move into a new headquarters in Chester.
The £19 million deal will see the council purchasing 82,000 sq ft of modern office design space, with the local auhtority selling its former offices to Chester University for £4 million.
Situated at the HQ Development - which is owned by Liberty Properties - the council hopes to be fully moved into its new accommodation by April next year.
Paul Norman, Liberty Properties director, said: "The sale means the £50 million mixed-use HQ development is now fully let, which is great news given the fact that we've been continuing with the project during the most difficult economic crisis since the 1930s."
Meanwhile, the Northwest Regional Development Agency recently provided a £400,000 grant to Open Eye Gallery for its office relocation plans to Liverpool's Mann Island.
Working with Neptune Developments, the gallery is to take up residence in 3,770 sq ft of modern office design space at the premises.
