Staff at Gwynedd council are preparing for an office relocation programme which will see 70 per cent of employees move to new premises around the county.
Local paper the Caernarfon Herald reported that at present, there is a concentration of staff in the Caernarfon area - as this is where the council's headquarters is situated.
However, in order to better serve the county, plans have been made to relocate some roles in order to reduce unemployment and raise average income levels.
"The driving force behind the idea of moving some council posts towards the southern part of the county is the fact that the northern part of the county receives the benefit of public and private sector investment," corporate director for the council Dilwyn Williams told the publication.
Meanwhile, The Royal National Lifeboat Institution recently announced plans to move its headquarters from Wales to Birmingham.
The organisation noted that its Cardiff base will remain open to coordinate the 36 lifeboat bases in Wales, while a new Solihull office interior will be set up to help boost funding.
