Stockport Council has now completed an office relocation to Fred Perry House.
The building - which had its completion certificate issued on December 23rd 2010 - cost £12 million to construct, is composed of five floors and covers 47,000 square feet, offices.org.uk reported.
By relocating office, the council hopes that it can offer residents in the local area a central service and cut costs too.
Construction on the new office began in May 2009 and the building's official opening was attended by the grandson of Fred Perry - the Stockport-born tennis player who the office was named after. HRH Prince Edward, Earl of Wessex, conducted the opening ceremony.
The office has now been nominated for the North West Building Excellence Awards for its use of energy saving measures.
In addition, Mynottingham.com recently reported that when Nottingham City Council relocates to a single site in the city centre the area's Lawrence House, Severns House and Treasury Building will all be used for "exciting" new developments.
