Commercial property development company Downing has announced office refurbishment plans for the grade II-listed Port of Liverpool.
LDP Business has reported that the company plans to create up to 20,000 sq ft of grade A office interior space at the development, with the project reportedly costing in excess of £10 million to carry out.
Robin Ellis, senior surveyor at Downing, told the publication: "Liverpool's occupier market is holding up well and the credit crunch hasn't changed the fact that leases still expire and tenants are looking to achieve best value."
Meanwhile, office letting agent DTZ recently noted that commercial property uptake in Liverpool has so far outstripped that of rival cities during the economic downturn.
The company stated that a number of high profile lettings have been carried out in recent months, with 130,000 sq ft of office space being pre-let to Mersey Travel at Mann Island just one of the many highlights.
