A development in Farnham has been awarded a preliminary BREEAM rating of Excellent to recognise its efforts in sustainable office design.
Situated on Victoria Road in the Surrey town, Carlton Yard has received the preliminary award after an assessment of the property took place.
Free Office Search reports features of the property that were especially pleasing for assessors included the use of a biomass boiler at the premises and the incorporation of recycled materials in its construction.
Kurt Little of Capital Holdings commented: "Environmental responsibility is increasingly important to businesses of all sizes and Carlton Yard presented us with an opportunity to build a high-quality scheme ... that would enable occupiers to reduce their carbon footprint."
Elsewhere, a new business park was recently opened in the centre of Grays.
The Thurrock Gazette reported that enterprise agency NWES has officially opened the Thurrock Centre for Business and hopes the venture will help to create jobs in the region and spur economic growth.
