The London headquarters of PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has been named the most sustainable in London.
Its 48,000 sq m office building will gain 25 per cent of its energy from recycled biodiesel generators situated onsite and is therefore able to reduce its carbon emissions by making use of this fuel, which would otherwise be shipped half way around the world to be refined.
Overall, the property has received an Outstanding rating by BREEAM assessors.
PwC head of facilities services Jon Barnes told MRW: "We are a leader in the field of finance, but we need to be responsible in the fields of sustainability. We need to show that we're doing it, not just talking about it."
The company operates in more than 150 countries around the world and employs in excess of 163,000 people worldwide.
It specialises in the fields of assurance, tax, human resources, transactions, performance improvement and crisis management and aims to deliver business-enhancing services to its clients.
