PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) has seen its London offices become the first in the capital to be awarded a BREEAM rating of Outstanding.
The firm noted up to 25 per cent of all the property's energy needs will be catered for onsite, while the 48,000 sq m office space utilises sustainable techniques such as using 80 per cent recycled aggregate within the concrete of the building and waste and heat recycling to cut down on emissions.
Roger Reeves, partner at PwC LLP, said: "We had the opportunity with the design process for the building to take a blank sheet of paper and raise the bar, both for ourselves and others, in the environmental and sustainability performance of office buildings."
PwC operates offices across the British Isles not just in London, including in Gatwick, Birmingham, Southampton, Newcastle, Sheffield, Leeds, Liverpool, Manchester, Milton Keynes, Bournemouth, Cardiff, Aberdeen, Edinburgh and Belfast, as well as in both Guernsey and Jersey in the Channel Islands.
