Raytheon has announced the opening of a new office in Portsmouth.
The company specialises in the provision of low-risk, cost-effective training solutions for the UK Defence Training Review Rationalisation Programme.
It is a member of the Metrix consortium and this group has strong links with the Ministry of Defence, with training activities spanning a range of areas, including delivery, design, development and management support.
"We have a number of training activities under way in the UK and this site will enable us to work more collaboratively with our customers and demonstrate how our low-risk capabilities provide the best value," said David Appel, Raytheon technical services director of UK military training programmes.
A partner to the Ministry of Defence, Raytheon was founded in 1908 and today employs approximately 1,350 members of staff. In 2009, the firm's annual revenue totalled £351 million.
