Refurb project 'provides new lease of life'

A building refurbishment project in Birmingham led to the creation of new office space for community organisations and helped the building reach an important milestone, a report says.
The Birmingham Post reports that the Nechells Baths building was refurbished to provide office space as well as a range of community facilities and that following the changes the building has been able to celebrate its 100th anniversary.
Originally completed in 1910, the baths were closed to the public in 1995, but a refurbishment project led to the creation of office space for community organisations.
The Grade II listed building had fallen into disrepair, but funding from Advantage West Midlands and the Heritage Lottery Fund allowed for a Midlands workplace design project to be carried out.
Completion of the project saw the creation of contemporary office interiors for community organisations, as well as a creche and nursery facilities, and an internet cafe, allowing the building to once again be regularly used so that it could celebrate its 100th anniversary.
