A project to refurbish the Wirral Outreach Centre has been completed and the building has been opened by artist and photographer Mike McCartney - the brother of the famous Beatle, Paul.
The Wirral Globe reports that the project included an office refurbishment scheme for the benefit of staff, in addition to work to create two new teaching rooms and a student library.
The centre offers professional development services to those working in the education sector enrolled on part-time courses at Edge Hill University.
Consultant leader for continuing professional development and commissioning at Wirral Council, Lynne Hayes, told the news provider: "We are very proud [of] the continuing strengthening of our partnership with Edge Hill University and look forward to the centre flourishing this year."
Wirral Outreach manager Frith McCormack added that investing in the refurbishment project allows the opportunity to study in a more suitable environment.
Earlier this month the Birmingham Post reported that a community building in the city, Nechells Baths, got a new lease of life following a project that included an office refurbishment scheme.
