High street brand Debenhams has announced it has taken on new office and industrial space in Leeds town centre.
The firm plans to move into new office interior space at Evander Properties' Sherburn Distribution Park in June next year and will hopefully create an additional 800 jobs in the process.
Debenhams has signed a 27-year lease for the office and industrial space at the site.
"It is welcome news that such a well-known high-street retailer is further investing in the Leeds city region. It will be a huge boost for the local economy and jobs market," commented Ian Williams, director of policy at Leeds, York and North Yorkshire Chamber of Commerce.
Elsewhere in the city, office property Latitude Red has been rebranded No1 Leeds by its owner IVG in a bid to improve tenant interest.
The property provides 122,000 sq ft of office interiors and is presently being marketed by Knight Frank, Insider Media reports.
