International mining group Rio Tinto has announced it is moving into office space owned by global pharmaceutical business AstraZeneca in London.
The firm will be taking on 26,000 sq ft of grade A office interior space on the sixth floor of Two Kingdom Street. In total, the property offers 230,000 sq ft of office space and became the headquarters of AstraZeneca last month.
London mayor Boris Johnson noted at the opening of the office building back in February: "This once derelict part of London has transformed itself into a thriving new business district providing quick access to the capital's transport network, its airports and its centres of world-class research."
Meanwhile, a recent report by Drivers Jonas Deloitte revealed that office uptake in the capital was maintained at the five-year average for the first quarter of 2011, with 75 per cent of the deals being transacted for office space of less than 10,000 sq ft in total.
