Rising energy costs in the UK are forcing many companies to consider the benefits of sustainable office design and other green initiatives, it has been claimed.
Richard Critchley, policy manager for transport, environment & planning at Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce, said energy costs are a major expense for any business and therefore, it is unsurprising that attempts to cut this outlay are presently being seen across the country.
He commented: "The soaring cost of gas, electricity and oil is forcing companies to seriously look at their energy efficiency and tackle waste, however, this isn't always a simple process."
Ian Reilly, business development manager at Beyond Building Solar, recently noted that the installation of solar panels could be an integral part of the ongoing drive to improve sustainable office design for firms.
He argued that despite the lack of sunny weather in the UK, companies can significantly benefit from the installation of green measures such as solar panels at their buildings.
